Biography
Dr. Liu Anqing graduated from Xi’an Medical University in 1983 and worked there for 20 years after graduation. He served as the deputy director of the orthopedics department at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University. In 2002, he was transferred to Shenzhen as a discipline leader, leading the creation of the Department of Orthopedics and Arthroplasty at Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital into a national key discipline. With an annual volume of over 1,400 joint replacement surgeries, it ranks first among Western comprehensive hospitals in Guangdong Province, and pioneered robot-assisted hip and knee arthroplasty surgery in Shenzhen.
Dr. Liu Anqing has been dedicated to the field of orthopedic joints for more than 40 years, with unique expertise in hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacements. Each year, he personally performs over 400 joint replacement and revision surgeries, totaling more than 5,000 artificial joint replacements. Dr. Liu specializes in the treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head, congenital hip dysplasia and dislocation, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, joint deformities, degenerative changes in the elderly knee, and various difficult deformities.
Dr. Liu Anqing has studied at the Sixth People’s Hospital in Shanghai and the Taipei Veterans General Hospital, and has attended academic conferences and exchanges in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and more. He has published over 80 papers and authored five books, receiving over 1.6 million RMB in research funding, achieving five provincial and ministerial scientific research achievements, one national patent, and mentoring 12 master’s students.
Dr. Liu Anqing is a member of the SICOT Chinese Joint Surgery Branch, a member of the Joint Surgery Working Committee of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association, an executive member of the Guangdong Provincial Society of Arthroplasty, the deputy director and head of the orthopedic joint group of the Shenzhen Orthopedic Society, and an advisor to the Shenzhen Medical Association’s Joint Surgery Branch. He also serves as the executive editor of the Chinese Journal of Joint Surgery and the editor of the Chinese Journal of Surgical Therapeutics.
