Biography

Dr. Tong received his MB,BS in 1992 from London Hospital Medical College, Whitechapel. He commenced Internal Medicine training in Belfast, Northern Ireland, passing the examination for Membership of the Royal College of Physicians UK (MRCP). Subsequently he completed Emergency Medicine specialty training in 2005 centered around Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM).

Dr. Tong has published several papers including a Cochrane review. He was Head of the School of Emergency Medicine in the East of England between 2016 to 2021, overseeing the training of over 300 doctors at any one time.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and is a medical course director for advanced adult (ALS), paediatric (EPALS) and trauma (ATLS) courses. He continues to work with NHS England Global team to facilitate international recruitment of Emergency Physicians to the UK. He is an honorary lecturer for the Medical course at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen.

Dr. Tong has over 30 years of ER clinical experience. Specialized in the urgent and emergency management of the full spectrum of illness and injury in Adults & Children from minor sprains to cardiorespiratory arrest and major trauma.
